Although my main interest in photography is people, I am sometimes drawn to light and what I call “casual landscape photography.” It is not about travelling to famous beauty spots, but about noticing quiet, dreamlike moments in everyday life.
What interests me is how light transforms what would otherwise be ordinary places. The character of a place changes with the seasons, bringing new structures of light and lines that do not exist at other times of the year. Sometimes snow gives form to a place that would otherwise feel chaotic. And often, it lasts only for a few seconds — before the sun disappears, the snow melts, or the fog is carried away by the wind.
